Erotica brings a different kind of pleasure than pornography. In pornography, we see the act of possession simulated, and this is what stimulates us. But in the case of erotica, we admire the form and composition of the depiction, and celebrate the beauty of it disinterestedly, stripped of the desire to possess. The thrill is chaste.
