It is useless that I should address heartfelt missives to Orthodox intellectuals asking how they can promote a religion that absents itself from judgment on the pressing issue of philosophy’s verdict on it, even as they themselves have absorbed, assimilated, and relativized it with regard to their own concern, which is that of avoiding the corrosion of faith; for I am the very instance of that negative outcome of exposure to philosophy that they seek by their strategy of avoidance to preclude.
